Second Life Was My Gateway Into Adultery

I watched what seemed to be a very innocuous documentary on Netlfix called Life 2.0.
It was about people who had these amazingly rich, virtual lives. They had power, money, romance, fame and lots of sex. Yes. Virtual sex. There was even a woman featured on the documentary that was earning a real life six figure income from running businesses on Second Life.
That was all I needed to hear to be curious about entering into this what seemed to be too good to be true world. I rationalized that since I was a business woman, than I owe it to myself to investigate this potential income stream.
But really, I was there to meet men.
I googled Second Life, downloaded and installed the program, then eagerly restarted my MAC.
I didn't know what to expect, especially beacause the last time I played a computer game was The Sims maybe a decade prior.
The opening screen was simple enough. You could choose from roughly 15 different free avatars to represent yourself in the virtual world.
The one that I felt was the closest to me (which wasn't very close at all) wore sunglasses and held shopping bags. Whatever, I thought. All the other ones where either blond, red heads, animals (literally animals) or vampires.
I'll take the shopping bags.
